(Bhuni Jhinga)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p>Today was one of those days I wanted to cook something different.\u00a0 Nothing to complicated, but with lots of flavour,\u00a0 exotic,\u00a0\u00a0 spicy.\u00a0 Encrusted with spices, these stir-fried shrimp are hot, sour and delicious.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/IMG_0010-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-231\" title=\"IMG_0010-1\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/IMG_0010-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/IMG_0010-1.jpg 800w, http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/IMG_0010-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Serves 4 for a starter or lunch &#8211; 2 for dinner<\/p>\n<p>450g medium-sized raw shrimp, peeled and deveined<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 tsp ground turmeric<\/p>\n<p>1\/8-1\/4 tsp cayenne pepper or to taste<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp ground coriander<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tsp ground cumin<\/p>\n<p>1\/14 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp olive oil or peanut oil<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 tsp whole brown or yellow mustard seeds<\/p>\n<p>2 fat garlic cloves minced<\/p>\n<p>1 1\/2\u00a0 tsp or so lemon juice.<\/p>\n<p>Wash the shrimp well.\u00a0 Leave to drain in a sieve, them pat dry and place in a bowl.\u00a0 Add the turmeric, cayenne pepper, coriander, cumin and salt.\u00a0 Mix well.\u00a0 Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium-high heat.\u00a0 Add the mustard and cumin seeds.\u00a0 As soon as the mustard seeds begin to pop (a matter of seconds) add the garlic and stir once of twice.\u00a0 Quickly add the prawns to the pan and stir once of twice.\u00a0 Turn down the heat immediately to medium-low and let the prawns cook gently, stirring, until they are just cooked through (around 2-3 minutes).
