Set aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Place popcorn in a large zip-top plastic bag; seal. Crush popcorn using a meat mallet or rolling pin; set aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Combine sugar, syrup, and 1\/4 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cook 1 minute or until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cook, without stirring, until a candy thermometer registers 270F (about 8 minutes).<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Stir in molasses and butter; cook until thermometer registers 290F. (about 5 minutes).<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Stir in baking soda, vanilla.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Remove from heat.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Stir popcorn into boiling syrup mixture.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Working quickly, pour popcorn mixture onto prepared pan and spread to 1\/4-inch thickness using a wooden spoon coated with vegetable oil.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Sprinkle mixture with sea salt.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cool completely;;
