sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure what I enjoy most about herbs.\u00a0 Growing them, cooking with them, or gently brushing their fragrant leaves for the sheer enjoyment of their fragrance.\u00a0 I use fresh herbs when ever I can.\u00a0 With dried herbs you don&#8217;t know their quality and what level of intensity they will bring to a dish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/herbs-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1657\" (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Herbs are divided into two categories, hard and soft.\u00a0 Hard herbs are the ones that have thick, woody stems: oregano, sage, thyme, lavender, and rosemary, for example.\u00a0 These are powerful herbs that are added at the beginning of a dish and can withstand the heat, slowly releasing their oils and flavours.\u00a0 Because they&#8217;re so strong they can easily overwhelm a dish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/herbs-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1659\" title=\"herbs 4\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/herbs-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/herbs-4.jpg 800w, http:\/\/mrsbutterfingers.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/herbs-4-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Soft herb s include basil, dill, cilantro, tarragon, parsley, chives and chervil.\u00a0 They are more delicate and volatile.\u00a0 These herbs should only be used at the end of cooking, after the pan is off the heat and you&#8217;re ready to serve the dish.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t cut your soft herbs too much.\u00a0 Mincing them destroy their flavour.\u00a0 The only herb you cut fine is chives.\u00a0 As a rule, give soft herbs one pass with the knife just before you use them, or better, tear the leaves by hand.<\/p>\n<p><a (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My kitchen window is filled with herbs .\u00a0 Most will be planted in containers outside my kitchen door.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve several kinds of mint and much as I adore the little darlings, they will take over my garden.\u00a0\u00a0 Now if our weather would just cooperate and give us some heat both my herbs and myself will be extremely
